Scholarship Opportunities

The Kandiyohi community does a great job supporting those attending higher education. The following scholarships are available. Please note that these scholarships are awarded by different organizations, and applicants are encouraged to apply for each opportunity for which they qualify.

James L. Strouth Memorial Scholarship

Jim Strouth was an active member of the Kandiyohi community and belonged to the Kandiyohi Men’s Club, Kandiyohi Businessmen’s Association, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He spent countless hours volunteering for his church and community events. Jim was proud of the Kandiyohi community and had a deep commitment to his bank customers and the surrounding farming area.

He passed away on February 24, 2021. An annual scholarship of $1,000 is awarded in his memory.

This scholarship is open to a college or trade school student with a strong GPA and an interest in the Kandiyohi community or local agriculture.
