Utility Bill Payment Options

The City of Kandiyohi offers a variety of convenient payment options for residents. Please choose the option that best suits your needs.

Payment by Mail

If paying by check or money order through the mail, please include your payment coupon with your payment. To avoid late fees, mail your payment at least 5–7 business days before the due date listed on your bill.

Payment Drop-Off Location

You may pay your bill in person at the City office. We accept cash, check, or money orders. Please note that Mondays, Fridays, and the first business day following a holiday are typically the busiest times, which may result in longer wait times.

For your convenience, a secure after-hours utility payment drop box is available outside the City office. Payments placed in the drop box will be processed on the next business day.

Credit Card Payments (Online Only)

Credit and debit card payments may only be made through the City of Kandiyohi’s official website.

Due to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), City staff are not permitted to accept or manually enter credit or debit card numbers on behalf of residents in the office, over the phone, or by email.

This policy helps ensure the protection of your financial information and aligns with applicable data privacy and security requirements, including the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (Minnesota Statutes Chapter 13) and federal consumer protection laws.

ACH AutoPay

The City of Kandiyohi offers ACH AutoPay for utility bill payments. This option allows your monthly utility payment to be automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account.

ACH withdrawals occur on the 10th of each month. If the 10th falls on a weekend or holiday, the withdrawal will occur on the next business day.

To enroll, please complete the Utility Bill ACH AutoPay Authorization Form, print and sign the form, and return it to the City Clerk. To cancel or make changes to your ACH AutoPay, the City must be notified at least three business days prior to the scheduled withdrawal date.
