Temporary Water Line Freeze Alert
4/29/2026
Important Notice – Temporary Water Lines
Residents currently connected to temporary water are advised to run a small, steady stream of water, or a slow drip, overnight during periods of freezing temperatures.
Due to recent and expected snap freezes, temporary water lines are more susceptible to freezing. Allowing a continuous drip helps keep water moving in the line and reduces the risk of freeze-ups, loss of service, and potential damage.
What You Should Do
- Run a small, steady drip from a faucet, about the size of a pencil lead.
- Leave the water running overnight when temperatures are at or below freezing.
- Continue this practice for the next couple of days until temperatures consistently remain above freezing.
Billing Notice
Because this requires continuous water use, residents on temporary water lines will not be billed based on actual usage for this period. Instead, your April utility bill, billed in May, will be based on an average of your previous three months of usage.
How To Tell If You Are On Temporary Water
If you are unsure whether your property is connected to temporary water, please look for a blue temporary water line running to your home.
